POWER TOOL AND CORD TESTER PROVIDES ELECTRICAL SAFETY
Designed specifically for electrical safety testing of power tools and extension cords in a range of industries including construction, the SafeCheck 5S safety instrument is designed to simplify a comprehensive test routine. Features like semi-automatic testing walk the operator through the test, and provide clear “pass” or “fail” indications.
Particularly valuable for applications where tools may incorporate an integral “no volt” operating switch, the SafeCheck 5S performs tests that include Ground Bond, Short Test, Leakage, and Continuity and Polarity of extension or power cords.
The SafeCheck 5S tests ground bonds with current up to 10A Pass level 0.5W. Its short test line to ground has an open circuit test voltage nominal 8V AC Fail trip equivalent to a 7mA leakage. Its short test line to neutral has an open circuit test voltage nominal 8V AC Fail trip set to 3W. The instrument tests for Run Leakage with equipment running at supply voltage and Leakage measurement for fail set at 0.75mA. Additionally, the SafeCheck 5S’s Ground Bond test for extension cords is an end-to-end test on the ground conductor with 0.5W fail point 12V continuity/polarity test end-to-end line and neutral conductors.
