ALLSCRIPTS-LED INITIATIVE WORKS WITH GOOGLE HEALTH TO ENABLE GREATER ONLINE COLLABORATION BETWEEN PHYSICIANS AND PATIENTS
Allscripts, a leading provider of clinical software, connectivity and information solutions that physicians use to improve healthcare, has announced a collaboration between the National ePrescribing Patient Safety Initiative (NEPSI) and Google Health to provide physicians a new means of sharing health information over the Internet with their patients.
The Allscripts solution replaces paper prescriptions with sophisticated technology that automates the prescription-writing process, helping to avoid dangerous medication errors attributed to illegible handwriting, and delivering automated safety checks. By allowing physicians to send electronic prescriptions to a patient's preferred pharmacy, NEPSI e-prescribing saves time and adds efficiency to the process for patients and pharmacists.
