Landscapers recognized with national awards
The Canadian Nursery Landscape Association, in partnership with Landscape New Brunswick hosted a winter celebration of the green industry in Saint John, NB at the Hilton Saint John on February 8, 2008.
The Caterpillar Award of Excellence for Landscape Construction was presented to Watermark Gardens for their Shaughnessy Residence submission. Watermark Gardens is a member of the BC Landscape & Nursery Association. The John Deere Award of Excellence for Landscape Maintenance was presented to North By Northwest Ventures Inc for their Glenlyon Business Park submission. North By Northwest Ventures is also a member of the BC Landscape & Nursery Association.
Davey Tree expands ON office and opens new BC Office
The Davey Tree Expert Co. is continuing its record period of growth with acquisitions in Albany, N.Y.; Orillia, Ontario, Canada; and Portland, Maine, and by expanding its residential/commercial services operations with new office locations in Chicago, Ill., and Vancouver, British Columbia.
The 128-year-old Ohio-based provider of arboricultural and horticultural services expects the locations to involve new jobs, as well as expanded opportunities for current employees, including sales, management and service employees.
With the acquisition of The Treeman, The Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada, Ltd. expands its Ontario operations northward to Orillia. Davey’s existing Vancouver office has been divided into two, with the existing territory to be known as Burnaby and the newly created office to be known as Vancouver.
